How Nutrition Research Works: Interpreting Evidence and Studies

Nutrition headlines routinely contradict each other — eggs are dangerous, then eggs are fine, then eggs are complicated. The evidence hierarchy in nutrition research places study designs on a rough pyramid. How it works

They produce clean causal data on short-term physiological outcomes, but they cannot tell researchers whether a dietary pattern maintained for 30 years reduces stroke risk.
